Created as a call to awareness about deep sea mining, ocean floor mineral extraction and contamination, this artwork reflects a growing environmental concern. The exploration and removal of critical minerals from the seabed threaten fragile marine ecosystems, including species essential to oxygen production in deep ocean environments.

The original illustration was created using traditional sketching techniques, pencil, watercolor, and markers on paper,  then digitized using a professional high-resolution scanner. Printed on Aquarelle Heavyweight Cold Press 300 gsm, and with museum-grade pigmented inks.
